Havenwereld - the making of…
The construction of Havenwereld. Following a four-year development process and several months of on-site construction, the experience will be officially opened with a celebration on 12 December 2026.
It is a unique project that is set to attract a great deal of attention and visitors. Situated on the historic dry dock site in Antwerp, a short distance from the city centre and Zaha Hadid’s iconic Havenhuis, it occupies a former ship propeller workshop and a new building designed by Atelier Kempe-Thill.
We have developed a colourful, immersive experience covering approximately 1,500 m² that explores the port in all its facets, aimed primarily at young adults. It offers an immersive experience in unique spaces featuring interactive games and a wealth of things to discover. Spatial and graphic design by MOXIE, in collaboration with Heijmerink Wagemakers, IJsfontein and Podium.
